I’m spent.
I’ve been struggling to finish a big project for the past few weeks. And I finally turned in my draft this afternoon.
So I’m ready for a break.
But before I go for a nice walk along the Hudson River and relax for the rest of the day, I wanted to share this with you.
Because along with my draft for the project, I also sent my client a $7,500 invoice. And I realized something important while I did…
You see, the first time I met this client was February of 2018.
And we didn’t start discussing this project until August 2020.
So it was a full two and a half years between when we met and when we started working together.
Which is why it’s so important to maintain a pristine reputation in your field. And to be persistent when you follow-up with potential clients.
Because you never know when the prospects you talk to might become clients.
And if I didn’t invest the time and effort to always come across like a professional, I wouldn’t be sending out a $7,500 invoice this afternoon.
So keep that in mind — and make sure you’re always carrying yourself like a pro when you’re around people in your field.
You never know when it will pay off.
